Types of Skid Steer Attachments

These attachments provide an excellent means of getting the job done in the most efficient manner. Many skid steers have as many as 100 available attachments to choose from ranging from backhoes to mulchers and trenchers. Below is a list and description of the 10 most common attachments followed by a more extensive list of the less common ones:

1. Bucket - Allows the operator to used the skid steer loader for moving, lifting, and loading terrain material such as loose gravel, rock, and dirt.
2. Augers/Auger Drivers – This attachment lets the operator dig fence post holes or holes for foundation footings.
3. Pallet Fork - The pallet fork is the ideal tool for lifting, loading, and moving loaded pallets.
4. Grapple – A grapple is an attachment idea for trees; everything from lifting, holding, and placing trees can be done with a grapple.
5. Blade - A blade is a great attachment for leveling and grading dirt, rock, sand and other earth materials.
6. Breaker - The breaker is used to break away concrete, stone, asphalt and other similar materials for removal from the site.
7. Tiller – The tiller is a farming attachment used to level or till the earth.
8. Cement Mixer – Used to mix, transport, and dump concrete wherever is needed.
9. Stump Grinder - This attachment is used to grind stumps into wood chips using special teeth and a cutting wheel.
10. Snow Blade – The snow blade is the ideal tool for plowing snow off of parking lots, driveways, and roadways.
